ProPresenter Tutorial: What settings to change when you install worship software

Once you install ProPresenter, you might think that you need to learn to use it, but if you want to get the most out of it without having problems, there are some computer settings you should change first. A lot of people forget these, so go through my list and see if I’ve left any out, too.

Most of these are in system preference on the Mac, so let’s start there.

Make sure you turn off or turn up the delay until the screensaver activates. Also, set the wallpaper for the display which is sent to the projector to black so that if ProPresenter crashes, all you see on screen is black.

Make sure the power saving mode is set not to trigger for quite some time so the screen doesn’t lose signal inexplicably.

Make sure the displays are arranged in a logical place in relation to each other in the displays – arrangement tab. Also, make sure you know which is which.

If you’re using the new messages feature in Pro6, change the notification settings to make sure it stays up until it’s dismissed. Also, make sure “Do not disturb” is off.

As far as sounds go, turn off the system sounds and turn off the audio indication of volume change.

Finally, make sure that each display is not a separate space.

Now, let’s head over to ProPresenter itself. Disable the camera for live (unless you’re going to use it). Make sure SD is dragged to your stage display screen. Make sure the main out is dragged to the projector.

One bonus tip, change the logo from the propresenter logo to the church logo or series graphic so you have somewhere to bail to (other than black) should you need to.
