ProPresenter 6 tutorial: 5 reasons to upgrade to Pro6

Sometimes when new software comes out, you have to ask yourself whether it’s worth the upgrade or not. Having used Pro6 since the day it came out, I thought I’d share the 5 reasons that I think you’ll be happy that you upgraded to propresenter 6.

Scheduler. This is one of the most requested features in ProPresenter. It’s really nice to be able to tell Pro6 to start the first worship song when the countdown hits zero. You could also set the preservice announcement loop to start at 10 minutes (or whatever) out, so that’s pretty cool too.

Element transitions. Previously, if you wanted to move just one piece of a slide, there wasn’t a great way to do it. Now, whether you’re doing special music and want to animate lyrics or want to make announcement slides more dynamic, it’s pretty easy to do with element transitions.

Telestrator. If your pastor likes to highlight things on screen, telestrator (and support for it in the remote app) make it easy to do so. Whether it’s a circle, line, highlight, or virtual laser dot, it’s nice to have it at the ready for the pastor.

Remote messaging. I love this feature. Instead of getting a text message, a call, a hand-written note, etc., the person who needs to get a message on screen can go to a web page (within your network only) and send it to you. It shows up as a notification on the screen and then you can click on it to show it. Nice and easy.

Stage display enhancements. There are a lot of these, but I think they’re the best reason to upgrade. First, you can preview stage display without having an external monitor. If you want to show what’s on the main screen on the stage display, that’s now easy with live output on stage display. If you need to change layout of the stage display, stage display arrangement cues makes it effortless to do during service.

So what were your favorite new features? List them below and maybe I’ll add them to the next video I do on ProPresenter 6’s cool features.

For more details on how to use these features, don’t forget to watch the video above.
