
On today’s Tech Help for Churches:  Live-Tweeting the Sermon.  There are a lot of reasons people give for why you shouldn’t live-tweet the sermon.  Most of those are personal, not technological.  Let’s look at why it’s helpful and who should and shouldn’t do it.

I’ve heard the argument made in favor of it that it’s a digital way of taking short notes. I’ve also heard the arguments against it that it could be a distraction.
My point is that the person, not the tech is the distraction. It’s just as easy to get distracted with paper (doodling, playing tic-tac-toe, making a shopping list) as it is in Twitter. The person, not the tech is the cause of being distracted.
