ProPresenter 6 Tutorial: Tricks for using messages in Pro6

One of the best new features in ProPresenter 6 is the ability to send message text from a web browser located on the network that the ProPresenter engineer can approve. Out of the box, there are some limitations, though.

First, you might notice that the notification for the message only shows up for a short time. To fix this, you need to go to the notifications setting in the Mac system preferences, find ProPresenter 6 and set it to “Alerts” instead of “Banners”. When you do that, you’ll have to dismiss the notification or send it to the screen. It won’t just go away.

Secondly, while Macs (and iOS devices) on the same network will be able to access the message web site, other devices might not. To solve this problem, locate the ip address for the Mac with Pro6 (in system preferences and then network) and type that before the “:portnumber/” etc. (Note that it will be a number, not the words “portnumber”).

Then, as long as the networking stuff is running, it should work.

To watch how it’s done, watch the video above.
