What’s the low cost way to get live HDMI from camcorder/DSLR into my mac? Trying to setup a podcast studio.

Just announced yesterday at NAB: the Black Magic Studio Camera. 1080p for $2k, 4k for $4k.

How can your church put this to use? Will you be replacing your current cameras? Jumping on these like six year olds on a birthday cake?

If I’m interested in volunteering at your church and I tell you that I’m interested, what’s the next step?

My church is great at saying, “Yes please!” to new volunteers but we’ve spread ourselves so thin that they’re left to figure their job out on their own. In the last three months I’ve seen this happen with projection operators, sound techs, and even worship leaders.

What’s your process for training and supporting your willing volunteers?

Hey guys!

I was just wondering if you guys have any camera suggestions to use for ProPresenter on Mac? I work for a growing small-to-medium sized camp and would love to utilize that feature for the upcoming summer season. We do not need a huge, commercialized one yet, anything from an HD handy cam to amatuer-to-professional camera would do!

Thanks!

Oh, by the way, here are some of the products I was looking into. I’d love to hear what you guys think of them!

Sony EVI-D70 1/4″ CCD Pan / Tilt Zoom Color NTSC Video Camera
HERO3+ Black Edition
And a plethora amount of videocamera. I couldn’t decide as I don’t know how to narrow them down!

If you guys could give me a list of cameras, that would be fantastic! One on the cheaper side, another on the average side, and lastly, one that you could say, “you get what you pay for!”

You guys are all much appreciated.

Where do I stand? What do I need?
Hey everyone! We seem to be having an issue with footage quality recording quality. We use 3 Sony DCR VX2100 cameras. 2 captured using Gigaware VHS to DVD Converter and rca cable. 1 captured with a dv cable all into a mac pro 1.1 using vmix 8.0.0.50. edited with adobe premiere pro cs4. Can you guys help me figure out what’s missing or what sorft or hardware is outdate usless or damaging the quality ?

Thanks in advance !

We are in the process of upgrading our current Media Shout (MS) 4.5 to either MS5 or ProPresenter (PP) 5. We have never used PP. But like to get the Pros and Cons of each. For the past 5+ years we have used MS 4.5 in both, our main worship center and in our youth church. Both venues run MS on a PC. We are also considering upgrading to MAC, more like and IMAC. What are Pros and Cons. Any hardware recommendation.

I have been waiting about two years for Blackmagic to release a studio camera for seamless integration with their switchers and simplified work flow for the volunteers.

I’m hoping to get my hands on one asap to start testing stability for a New broadcast campus.

Any Thoughts?
